Meet Frances Goldin, 87 years old, and a longtime activist and literary agent. Some of the writers she represents include Barbara Kingsolver, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Dorothy Allison, Adrienne Rich, and our own Staceyann Chin.
The Guardian included this shot of her at the OWS protests yesterday. Evidently, she was doing her best to get arrested (for the tenth time in her life).

The NYC mayor’s office has released a picture of the books seized from last night’s clearing of the People’s Library at Occupy Wall Street Zuccotti Park. Plans are underway to begin rebuilding the library.

The four-pawed president serves as a direct response to those who claim a leader, by putting a face on the movement, would make it easier to handle. But when it comes down to it, the occupiers don’t want to be handled.
